E
Easy
Listening - If "Laugh In" were a drama, it would
be "Easy Listening."
Eating
Out - Is one of the funniest gay comedies you'll
ever see.
Eban
and Charley - It's about an older man who has a
romance with a teenage boy. It speaks in defense of
such relationships. There. You know right now whether
you want to see it or not.
Ed
and His Dead Mother - This movie has no reason to
exist. It's story wants to be absurdist but it just
turns out to be silly.
Eddie
- It's not funny. It doesn't even try to be funny.
The
Edge - A remarkable film about man vs. nature bogged
down by too much bullshit about man vs. man.
Edge
of 17
- Is pretty joyous for all it's typical angst.
Edipo
Re - After watching the film, I wish I would have
passed it up.
Educating
Rita - Quite possibly the most intellectual, literate,
warm and fuzzy picture ever made.
Eight Legged Freaks
- What could have been a one joke, in-jokey, spoof of
50's B-movies turns out to be a humorous and fun, spirited
romp.
8
1/2 Women
- Takes
on one of the most outrageous and exciting plots imaginable.
8
Mile - This film really was like a "Rap"-oriented
homage to Rainer Werner Fassbiner.
El
Crimen Ferpecto - Isn't the best film to be seen
this year, it is certainly a successful black comedy.
Elephant
- Like "Zero Hour," Gus Van Sant's "Elephant" is a "Columbine"
film.
The Elephant Man -Here it is - the
film that is, in my opinion, the finest motion picture
ever made in the history of the cinema. Director David
Lynch cuts through all cinematic excess to get directly
to the heart of the story.
The
Elevator - Nobody truly gets to know each other
or communicates on an elevator. Nor do they here.
Elevator
World
- For anyone who would claim that you cannot make an
amusing, effective, and professional short completely
on computer, there is "Elevator World."
11th
and Congress - So artfully pretentious and so convoluted
that it is nearly impossible to understand what is going
on here.
Elf
- Is funny consistently throughout.
Elizabeth
- It is the perfect definition of "pretentious."
Elizabethtown
- It is easy to love this film if you're a sentimental
romantic who loves unusual films.
Ellie
Parker - Introduces filmmaker Scott Coffey as one
of the freshest and most unique voices working in digital
cinema today.
Emmett's
Mark - If "Emmett's Mark" were a house, it would
be like one built by Frank Lloyd Wright.
The
Emperor and the Assassin - I could not keep my eyes
open during "The Emperor and the Assassin."
The
Emperor's Club - wants desperately to give you a
warm fuzzy feeling. It is that very obvious desire that
negates much of what it tries to do.
The
Enchanted Cottage - If ever there was a film that
captures the magic and the true spirit of love, it is
this one.
The
End of the Affair - Tragic, poetic, thoughtful and
measured perfectly.
End
of the Century: The Story of the Ramones - If there
were ever four guys who seemed doomed for obscurity
it is these young men.
The
End of Violence - Is about filmmaking as much as
anything else.
Enemy
at the Gates - The surprise comedy hit of the new
year! You will laugh your ass off! Of course, it is
an UNINTENTIONAL comedy.
Enemy
of the State - From the opening credits, it is obvious
that this Tony Scott film is going to rock.
Eraser
- Mindless drivel from Arnold Schwarzenegger who should
have known better than to get involved with the director
of Jim Carrey's "The Mask."
Eraserhead
- David Lynch didn't set out to be a film director.
His first dream was to be a painter and artist. This
lead him into filmmaking. One of his first "short" films
was shown on a sculptured screen. It was with this same
idea of mixing art and cinema that Lynch made "Eraserhead,
his first feature film.
Erin
Brockovich - This is almost the most perfect American
movie one can imagine.
Escape
from New York - Yep - I loved every minute of this
film.
Eternal
Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Is one of the darkest,
most complex, most intriguing films to be seen.
Eurotrip
- You will howl with laughter and so will you kids.
The
Event - Deeply emotional and heartbreaking.
Everyone
- Fletcher doesn't just steal this movie (as his character
is designed to do), he fucking owns it.
Everyone Says I Love You -
Is a failure but it is still interesting to watch.
Evil
Dead II - Bruce Campbell is a rock star. And so
is Sam Raimi. Together, they bring forth a buzzsaw of
a film on overload.
Executive
Decision -
It's fairly believable and it never really slows down.
It does, however, take a bit of time to get off the
ground.
The
Exorcism of Emily Rose - is an interesting and sometime
compelling film.
The
Exorcist 2000 - Who
would have thought that "The Exorcist" would become
camp. Worse yet, boring camp.
eXposed:
The Making of a Legend - We learn a lot about the
porn business.
The
Eye - Watch her squeak, squeal, eek, shiver and
breath heavy every time a corpse comes around.
Eye
for an Eye - Gives us mere flashes and quick cuts
of the action on screen.
The
Eyes of Tammy Faye - She was a true Christian. She
seems to only have love in her heart for people - all
people. And it is easy to love Tammy Faye in return.
Eyes
Wide Shut - Kubrick's script is dull and has plot
contrivances that we see coming a mile off.
Eyes
without a Face
- Not perfectly realistic in 2004.
