Dead
Man on Campus (1998)
Humorous MTV film where Paul Mark Gosselar and Tom
Everett Scott try to find a suicidal roommate so they
will be excused from bad grades at college when he kills
himself. (The college has an arcane rule that gives
straight A's to the roommates of a student who commits
suicide).
The film has moments of hilarity mainly provided by
the prospective roommates. What's nice about the film
is the gay jokes in the piece, which are generally aimed
at Gosselar and Everett and which they handle with ease.
Overall amusing and light-hearted considering the
theme is depression, angst and suicide.
Notes:
With music by Marilyn Manson (doing Bowie's "Golden
Years" over opening credits).
