Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival
- The Gayest Show in Austin (If you exclude

AGLIFF
Reviews:
Scout's Honor
- With that title and knowing this is a gay film, a
documentary, it is pretty simple to deduce the theme
of the movie.
Metrosexuality
- It's brilliant. Campy, sassy, ambisexual and vibrant.
Julie Johnson
- This movie, while technically adept, has a sort
of chilling coldness to it.
Coffee Date -
A nice little film about how a gay guy won a straight
friend by being himself and allowing the straight guy
to be himself as well.
10 Attitudes
- Ultimately the wit and freshness of the plot and acting
overcome any obstacles.
Play Dead - The
gay, teenage "Weekend at Bernie's"
Circuit
-Like
the trashiest gay novel you've ever read.
Destiny's
Children - Exemplifies the best in short filmmaking.
Hedwig
and the Angry Inch - Wow wow wow wow wow oh fucking
wow!
The Iron Ladies - It's
hard to imagine a film much more whacked out.
Big
Eden - Like a gay "Northern Exposure" (which could
be pretty gay itself at times).
The
Adventures of Felix - Is one of the few films I've
ever seen about a main character who just "happens to
be gay.
Burnt
Money - The "gay" "Bonnie and Clyde" - as made by
an Argentinean hack.
Nico and Dani - Takes on a "coming of age/coming
out" story that I haven't really ever seen explored
before.
Rainbow Child
- I have seen a lot of self- indulgent, egotistical
crap on screen in my day but this film sets a new standard
for the mode.
Hey! Happy - When
a gay film has three male main characters named Happy,
Spanky and Sabu, you know you are in for a unique experience.
David and Goliath - Concerns itself with gay male
body image and embodies it's opinions in a rather drab
and typical story.
Freddie Mercury: The Untold Story - There just seems
to be a huge chunk of the man's life; his rock star
idol image as the frontman of Queen, mainly; left out.

Out the 2000 Coverage:
The
Austin Gay and Lesbian Film Festival 2000: The
only thing worse than an impatient group of queens is
a hot, sweaty, impatient group of queens.
