Notes
from Austin Volume 3 #6 - Other Indie Film
News!
Greetings From Planet Telluride
Dear Independent Filmmakers, Videomakers, and Screenwriters,
We have decided to *reduce* our entry *limit* this year
- FROM 1200 (originally) - TO 1000 (total of all films, videos,
and screenplays).
With 1000 (total) entries we can attain our GOAL of *selecting*
10% of ALL submitted entries - therefore, providing more *opportunities*
for MORE artists!
1000 (total) entries seems to be a more 'manageable' amount
(at least, to us) - and (this way), we can pay *more* attention
to *each* entry submitted to the festival!
Reducing the entry limit will also help us maintain the
'casual and intimate' atmosphere that has made Telluride IndieFest
so *popular* with our artist/entrants.
Enter ONLINE at: http://tellurideindiefest.com Just click
on "Year 2001 Entry Forms" - and you are on your way!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once we *receive* 1000 entries - we will
CLOSE the event to any *further* entries - so, enter EARLY!
The First Guerrilla Film & Video Festival's deadline for entries
is May 31st. A form, rules and regulations can be obtained by
visiting www.7dazemedia.com/festival.html.
The festival will be held on August 10-12, 2001, at the
Tribeca Film Center in NYC. Fee is $25.

MYRIAD ARTS TO SHOOT MUSIC VIDEO FOR NADA SURF IN JULY Myriad
Arts is pleased to announce that we will be shooting a music
video for rock group Nada Surf in July in Los Angeles. Rolling
Stone describes Nada Surf as "Progressive post-grunge rockers
[who] sardonically shake the alternative rock tree with their
witty, highly stylized vocals and driving guitar licks," but
you might remember them best from their hit "Popular" which
made the rounds at MTV. The upcoming video will be directed
by Myriad's Marta Bartholomew, and will feature "Inside of
Love", a song from their forthcoming new album.
Jaffas down the Aisle - Short film festival
Add two parts guerilla filmmaking, one part live jazz, and
a dash of giveaways. Shake well to create a festival featuring
the films of gritty cinephiles who have begged, borrowed and
stolen to forge together their own uniquely warped visions.

Lodger's
Notes: A
UT student, where Gilb is a professor, who says the author has
only attended one class this semester. I say to that rich, white
kid: You lucky fucker. You have been in the presence of greatness.
Count your lucky fucking stars. If you write one sentence in
your life as magical and crisp as Gilb you are blessed.
