LUBE TV airs every Wednesday evening at 11pm on ACAC-TV channel
16. (Just turn the channels after "The Reel Deal!")
LUBE TV is a 30 minute program dedicated to
"Lubricating the Social Environment." The show features short
films, film clips, music videos and interviews as well as
discussion and spoof segments.
LUBE TV is also dedicated to promoting local
films and filmmakers.
LUBE TV is hosted by Austin actor Mark Brauner,
whose numerous credits include David Zellner's short film
"Gentleman Caller", and Austin's only OPENLY gay film website
guru Lodger, of filethirteen.com fame.
LUBE TV began airing in January of 2000 and
was originally hosted by Brauner and Austin actor John Christensen
("Waking Life"). Previous guests have included Wiley Wiggins.
When Christensen passed away unexpectedly in
November of 2000, Lodger, a frequent guest of the series,
was elevated to permanent co-host. Christensen's intent with
the program was to promote the Austin film scene and in turn
"lubricate the social environment." Brauner and Lodger have
every intention of continuing the spirit of this vision with
the program. Says lodger, "John was an incredible person whose
optimism and fun-loving nature infected anyone who knew him.
He leaves us a tough but exciting mission to carry on with
'LUBE TV, but Mark and I hope to do everything we can to make
his wishes a reality every single week."
