SANDRA
BULLOCK is attached to star in the thriller "Enough," about
a married woman who is forced to flee her abusive husband.
Is this a remake of Julia Robert's "Sleeping with the Enemy?"
Atomic Cafe
has switched from playing Swing on Wednesdays to hosting a "Glam
Rock" night. Their radio ads seem to indicate that they will
include some punk, new wave and groovy 60's rock in the mix
as well as the obligatory Bowie/Eno concoctions. Daniel Ash
of Love and Rockets was even supposed to guest DJ recently.
Sounds like fun!
Miss
Xanna Dont's review of the new film, "But I'm A Cheerleader"
is posted at Technodyke, a lesbian oriented website. Check it
out at http://www.technodyke.com/features/cheerleader.asp
John Christensen
got to see a little of his animated self in Richard Linklater's
"Waking Life" recently. Says John, "It's gonna be really surreal
and tripped out!. Last week they were working on my scene, so
I got to look at that which was cool-- glad to know that I made
the cut."

First
up, BALLOONFISH
directed by Mark Miller
BalloonFish
follows a little girl named Kiki as she and her danger sensing
hearing aids save the day. Come see the debut of Mark's final
DV piece before he heads off to Los Angeles.
Second,
don't miss DELIRIUM
from wee pirate films. Episode two of the Delirium series
throws us into the life of the American ho. Stars Leon Mandel
and Andy Fisher as prostitutes. Former Austinite and all-around
ladies man Roy Koshy also appears. Adults only.
As many
of you probably know by now, I hate "The Reel Deal," the cable
access show that reviews movies hosted by some guy named Corey.
It's such a horribly produced and boring show. The last two
weeks, I have watched the show from the beginning and it always
starts with a black screen and open mikes as they try and get
prepared for the air. How unprofessional is that? Regardless,
it looks like crappy TV, which, in fact, it is.
Corey
and his sidekick Martin are about to embark on another program
for the WB affiliate here in Austin which will team the two
African American males with a white female co-host for a film
review show to be called "Behind the Screen" or something
like that. The show will premiere sometime in September and
the producers are hoping to syndicate it nationally. Good
luck.
Apparently,
Corey and Martin will also continue with "RD" as well. Lucky
Austin viewers.
Why is the
Arbor 7 showing "Gone
in 60 Seconds?" Is one of Austin's most interesting multiplexes
going commercial? Or is this a last minute substitute for "American
Pimp?"

Another
message from John Christensen, who is too busy acting to call
me, but not too busy to e-mail me:

up for at the Dougherty Arts Center. Allan Campbell always
offers fun and stimulating classes, and sometimes yours truly

Notes
From Austin : On Saturday night, my friend Mary and I
went to the Agliff "Sound of Music" sing-a-long. We had to
read the lyrics from a program. Sigh. (I'm not quite SO GAY
that I know they lyrics by heart).
Hollywood
News : Spielberg takes on "A.I.", Mike Meyers not doing
