Sleeping
Dogs Lie - This film is built around a single joke and like
most films built around a single joke it gets dog-tired pretty quickly.
Driving
Lessons - Your heart will just about explode with the warmth
gleaned from pure delight. This film is magical.
Infamous
- Is much more colorful and campy and gay than “Capote.”.
Running
with Scissors - Will have you running to the box office with
your ticket stub, screaming for your money back.
The
Notorious Bettie Page - Does an incredible job of presenting
Bettie's story, albeit in the language of independent film.
Summer
Storm - Smart, witty, sweet and, for all its drama related to
coming out, fresh and unique.
La
mujer de mi hermano - Every moment in the film is like eye candy.
Room
- Is a allegorical masterpiece which exposes the subtle ways in
which the drudgery and frustration of daily life can overwhelm and
debilitate us.
Brick
- What starts out as a silly and confusing mess pretty much ends
up as a silly and confusing mess.
A
Scanner Darkly - You don't have to go any further than the first
scene to know that Linklater is way off the map here.
Adam
and Steve - I giggled so much I thought I was gonna shit.
Brothers
of the Head - Like a bad punk rock song.
Don't
Come Knocking - Offers us Wenders' best film in many years.
Neil
Young: Heart of Gold -
This may very well be the greatest visual document of Young's work
ever.
A
Prairie Home Companion - Fans of Altman will get just what they
are hankering for.
Match
Point - A Woody film that doesn't seem like a Woody film and
that in itself is a breath of fresh air.
Running
Scared - If you don't enjoy Tarantino and films like "Sin City,"
then this film may indeed have you running, scared for you sanity.
