Austin Film Festival 2001 Day 7 - October 17, 2001!
Daily Coverage!

Worked. Hung out at the house. Went to the paramount at 9 for "Lisa Picard is Famous." I did see Maggie, the co-creator of "LadyPorn" prior to the film but only got to say hi.

The film was horrible and it left me feeling really blah. I had said I might meet my friends Melissa and Dustin at 503 for open mic night after the film but I had a headache and didn't feel like going.

I went and had a Tangeria (a tangerine malt beverage made by a company who have co-opted the name Sublime from the rock band in their packaging). Tangeria ("I don't practice Tangeria") is really good. Anyway. I began to feel better even with the rather drab live music. There was some guys doing some Beatles covers. Then an old man got up and played some Flamenco tunes on guitar. Finally, some guys played some Asian sounding ambient acoustic stuff and then one of them played a didg- er-ee-doo. (You spell it!)

Dusty had to get up early the next morning to go on a road trip, so Melissa and I went to Starseeds for some grub. Kelly called my cell and joined us. This was cool because I wanted Kelly and Melissa to meet since they are acting together this weekend on my film. We ate and talked a lot and then went over to Melissa's and talked more. It was a nice night. Kelly is so charming. He always makes you feel like the most important person in the room. But, even more so, he is still able to do this with everyone, even if there are two people in the room. He's awesome.
